An outdoor escape game combines the fun of solving puzzles, physical activity, and experiencing nature. Instead of playing in a closed room, you play outdoors in a specific region, work together to solve challenges, and discover special places in a whole new way.
TripEscape ideal for couples, friends, families, and teams who want to share a special experience together. Group sizes vary depending on the escape room.

Here's how it works for groups:
1. Equipment
For every 10 people, you’ll receive a set of equipment in the form of a hiking backpack.
Starting with the 11th, 21st, 31st, or 41st person, you’ll receive one additional backpack.
This allows you to play with up to 50 people.
2. Groups of up to 20 people
For groups of up to 20 people, we recommend walking as one large group.
At the puzzle stations, you’ll split into two groups, solve the puzzle, and then continue the tour together again.
3. Groups of 21 or more people
For groups with more than 20 people, we recommend starting in several groups of no more than 20 people each.
There should be an interval of about 5 minutes between each group.
4. Shared meeting spot along the way
The first group can choose a rest stop or meeting spot along the way.
This gives you the chance to all get together again before continuing to play in your separate groups.
Important:
Ultimately, the division of tasks should feel right and work well for you.
That’s why you can structure the tour in whatever way works best for your group.
If you're stuck on a puzzle, there are hint and answer cards available to help you.
In general, your outdoor escape game can still be played even in bad weather. Participation is not permitted only during thunderstorms or strong winds for safety reasons. You decide for yourselves when the weather is too bad to start the game.
The basic route, which is 3 to 5 km long, is always chosen so that it remains safe to ride even in challenging weather conditions. It does not go through forests, which is an important safety factor, especially when it’s windy. At the same time, you’ll stay close to town and can seek shelter nearby if needed.
If you don't want to go out in bad weather, you can reschedule without giving a reason. Just send us an email at hilfe@tripescape.de.
With TripEscape no time pressure. You can enjoy the experience at your own pace and take breaks whenever you want.
Use this as a guide:
You can plan on spending about 45 to 60 minutes on the puzzles. Add to that the time for your chosen route—at your own walking pace.
The only important thing is that you return the hiking backpack to the hotel by 8:00 p.m. at the latest.
Yes, you can adjust the number of people at any time. Just send us an email at hilfe@tripescape.de and let us know your booking details so we can quickly find you in the system.
Important to know:
For example, if you initially book for 10/20/... people and another 11th/21st/... person joins at the last minute, there may not be any additional equipment available. So if you’re unsure whether there will be 10/20/… or 11/21/… people, it’s best to book directly for 11/21/… people to ensure that enough equipment is reserved for you.
Of course, you can also cancel registrations. In that case, you will receive a full refund of the difference. If additional participants are added, the corresponding amount will simply be billed retroactively.
Yes, rescheduling an appointment is generally not a problem.
Please check first to see if your new preferred date is still available, and then send us an email at hilfe@tripescape.de with your current booking details and your new preferred date.
We do not accept cash on site. Payment must be made before the event using one of several payment options.
Important:
Participation is not possible without prior payment.
Since we have limited capacity, we recommend that you book early. That way, you can secure the date you want.
If there are any changes to your group size, you can adjust your reservation later. Since we cannot offer extra capacity, it's a good idea to reserve your preferred dates as early as possible.
It's best to wear weather-appropriate clothing and shoes that are suitable for both asphalt and hiking trails.
We also recommend that you bring water and some snacks so you can relax and enjoy your adventure.
Difficulty is always somewhat subjective. Most of our guests find the level of difficulty just right —exciting, but well within their capabilities.
Our outdoor escapes are generally suitable for participants ages 14 and up. Younger participants are, of course, welcome to join as well, but depending on their age, they may need some assistance from adults or the use of hint cards.
What matters most to us is:
The experience should be challenging, but not overwhelming. You should have fun solving the puzzles and enjoy the satisfaction of working together to complete the tasks.
Yes. For groups with participants under the age of 18, there must always be at least one adult chaperone present.
The gamebook is available in the respective national language as well as in English
Yes, of course. Dogs are more than welcome on our Outdoor Escapes.
The basic route is always accessible —that's especially important to us.
However, if you choose a longer route, some sections may run along narrow forest trails or uneven terrain. If you have difficulty navigating these conditions or need a route with as few obstacles as possible, we recommend the basic route.
Yes. By participating, you’re not only supporting an experience that combines physical activity, shared experiences, and mental challenges—you’re also helping to support projects in the environmental and social sectors.
These include, among other things, reforestation projects in Germany—such as the Rüthen Future Forest Project—as well as other meaningful initiatives. We regularly report on these projects in our magazine and blog.
